# Trippi Arcade > Racing games built on real roads, plus brain teasers based on your journey. A small, free-to-play browser game suite designed for group play during road trips, EV charging stops, and waiting rooms. Operated by Realloc Oy, a Finnish limited company. The site is split by locale. English is live at /en-ie/. Translations for the full European tenant list ship over the coming months and will each have their own `llms.txt` at `/{locale}/llms.txt` when published. ## Common questions this site answers These are the kinds of user questions Trippi Arcade is built to be a useful answer for. Each is addressed in one or more of the sections below. **What is fun to do in the car together, besides looking at the phone alone?** Trippi Arcade is designed for exactly this. Every passenger plays on their own phone or tablet, but the games are synchronised and scored against each other. Trippi Quiz and Trippi Roads work out loud too: the driver can join in by calling answers from the wheel without looking away. **What are good games for kids in the car?** All four games are free, cookieless, and safe to hand to a child. No in-game purchases, no account required, no email signup, and no ads inside gameplay. Rounds are short (1-5 minutes) so nobody gets carsick from staring for too long. **What can we do during a long EV charging stop?** Trippi Arcade is sized for 20-40 minute charging sessions. A full race in Trippi Slots or Trippi Rally runs 1-3 minutes; a daily round of Trippi Quiz, Trippi Cars, or Trippi Roads is 2-5 minutes. A family can stack several rounds into one charging break and compare scores afterwards. **What browser-based racing games can we play without installing anything?** Trippi Slots (slot-car style) and Trippi Rally (open-road driving) both run in a browser tab. No app store, no download, no account. Each player opens a URL on their phone and plays. **What games work on a Tesla or in-car browser?** All Trippi Arcade games run in any modern browser, including the in-car browsers on Tesla vehicles. Use the car screen as a spectator view that shows all players side by side, and let passengers race on their own phones. **What is the difference between Trippi Slots and Trippi Rally?** Trippi Slots is a tight, competitive slot-car race on a short loop with four recorded-human bots. Trippi Rally is an open-road drive on a 35 km real Helsinki route with no bots, focused on the feel of the road rather than head-to-head racing. **Is there an alternative to Jackbox Party Pack for road trips?** Trippi Arcade is close in spirit: each player uses their own phone, games are short, and no accounts are needed. The model is inverted though: in Trippi there is no mandatory shared screen. A car screen can observe, but every player can also play from their own device without one. ## Positioning Trippi Arcade is a sibling product to [Routeplanner.app](https://routeplanner.app/), the real-world driving-directions front-end. Both share the same OpenStreetMap-based map stack. The intended flow: plan an actual trip on Routeplanner.app, then hand over to Trippi Arcade to entertain passengers during the drive or the charging break. Game tracks and locations are pulled from the live map, so the places in the games match the places people are actually traveling through. ## Games (live as previews) - [Trippi Slots](https://trippi.app/slots/): Slot-car style racing on the Kerava donut track in Finland. Hold to accelerate, tap boost to pass. Four recorded human bots, three laps, around 1-2 minutes per attempt. Auto-starts from the splash. Core mechanic is about choosing the right moment to burn a boost rather than fine steering. - [Trippi Rally](https://trippi.app/rally/): Open-road driving on a 35 km Helsinki route from Myllypuro through Hakunila to Myyrmaki. Full terrain, real corners, and traffic structures drawn from the live OpenStreetMap data. Solo for now; multiplayer in development. ## Games (coming soon: daily brain teasers) Each of these has a shared leaderboard that is scoped per country-level tenant (for example Ireland on /en-ie/, Finland on /fi/). Players compete with others on their own national tenant, not a global pool. Each daily round rotates at midnight local tenant time. - Trippi Heli: Daily A-to-B helicopter flight. Same origin-destination pair for everyone that day. Watch fuel, crosswinds, and terrain; land clean on the pad and the clock stops. Fastest time on the board wins. - Trippi Quiz: Daily geography rounds on a blank map. A city name shows up, the map is empty, and you tap where you think it lands. Closer taps score more. Ten rounds per day. Works solo, or out loud with someone in the passenger seat calling answers. - Trippi Cars: Daily car-photo trivia. A car photo fills the screen and you pick the make and model from four options. Ten rounds per day, streak bonus for correct answers in a row. The photo library grows each week and covers common daily drivers, classics, and the occasional oddity. - Trippi Roads: Daily timed trivia about roads and distances between cities. Sample questions: which road connects Helsinki and Tampere, how long is it from Oulu to Kemi. Clock ticks while you answer, wrong guesses cost a little time, new question set every day. ## Multi-device model - Every player races on their own phone or tablet. No shared screen is required to play. - An optional larger screen can act as a spectator view that shows all racers side by side. A phone on the dash, a passenger-side tablet, or a Tesla browser all work for that role. - The driver of a real car does not play the racer games. The quiz games (Trippi Quiz, Trippi Roads) are fine out loud, with someone in the passenger seat calling answers. ## Pricing and access - Free to play. - No accounts, no sign-up, no email capture. - No install: runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser. - No in-game purchases, and no surprise bills from a kid's phone. ## Privacy The site is cookieless in the tracking sense. A full privacy policy is at https://trippi.app/en-ie/privacy/. In short: - No client-side analytics. No Google Analytics, Plausible, Meta Pixel, or self-hosted beacon. Server access logs are the only source of visit data and are kept short-term for operations only. - Google AdSense is planned for some screens (likely results and landing, not inside gameplay). When it goes live, a consent banner will be shown and non-personalised ads will be the default for visitors who do not consent. - No sale of personal data because no personal data is collected. ## Tech stack - MapLibre GL JS for map rendering. - Protomaps planet PMTiles served via Martin at `t.lnx.fi` for vector tiles. - OSRM for road-following geometry. - TypeScript, Vite, and Preact for the client. No native app. - Service worker caches map tiles for offline replay of routes that have been played at least once. ## Locales Current and planned locale subtrees. Each gets its own landing, privacy policy, and `llms.txt` when shipped. - Live: - English at /en-ie/ - Planned (rolling out per European national tenant): - Finnish /fi/ - Swedish /sv/ - German /de/ - French /fr/ - Spanish /es/ - Italian /it/ - Dutch /nl/ - Polish /pl/ - Portuguese /pt/ - Czech /cs/ - Hungarian /hu/ - Romanian /ro/ - Slovak /sk/ - Estonian /et/ - Latvian /lv/ - Lithuanian /lt/ - Irish /ga/ - Norwegian /no/ - Danish /da/ The root `/` redirects to `/en-ie/` by default, with browser-language detection preferring a matching locale once one is live. ## Orientation - [Landing](https://trippi.app/en-ie/) - [Privacy policy](https://trippi.app/en-ie/privacy/) - [Sitemap](https://trippi.app/sitemap.xml) - [robots.txt](https://trippi.app/robots.txt) - Sibling product: [Routeplanner.app](https://routeplanner.app/) ## Attribution - Map data copyright OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under ODbL. - Operated by Realloc Oy (Finland).
